In the last action from a very successful season, Walsall under 14's took a sevens squad down to Kettering RFC for a tournament. The squad was made up of the following players :- Geoarge Perkins, JAmes Tamilio, Noah Griffiths, Shane Wright, Sam Tillott, Rhys Gaddu, William Hennessey, Nico Watkins, Joe Tipson, Cameron Kirkbride and Sam Garbett. They were in a very strong league and came up against some teams with a lot more 7's experience than them so it was a steep learning curve for the lads. Having said that, they acquitted themselves very we'll and in the first game managed to draw against a team made up from the best players from two clubs. The second game against Oakham, we won but in the third game against Old Scouts we were outclassed by a very good team, and the eventual winners. The team will learn from this experience and return to sevens next year a stronger proposition.
