Walsall Colts faced a top of the table clash against local rivals Wolverhampton but came off second best once again. Wolverhampton open the scoring within 5 minutes of the start with a smartly taken try in the corner. Walsall responded with an extended period of pressure and were rewarded with a Joe Brown try. Ben Tipson put Walsall in the lead with a penalty kick in front of the posts, the result of swift handling from the Walsall team. This was their last chance of the game. Wolverhampton made better use of the blustery conditions in the second half but had to work hard to breach the Walsall defence but eventually ran out winners 25-8.
Special mention for the 16 players whose fitness and work rate was phenomenal and competing till the final whistle. Best run of the day must go to Mr Tazzy Tin, dodging the whole defence (well almost the whole defence); centre next week! Close behind was Arron for doing the same. Finally, with so many players out of position in the back line, well done for making it look seamless.
