Another cracking advert for the North Mids league which is consitently giving fixtures against strong opposition and the victories are hard earned.
Both teams had periods of dominanace with Old Cov's having the lions share of the ball and Walsall being more clinical in their finishing. The two packs went head to head; Old Cov's got the better in the loose but Walsall were totally dominant in the line out; excellent return from injury for Matt Craddock in particular. The two back lines has different styles; Old Cov's looked to penetrate through the middle and Walsall looked to use the pace out wide. Either team could have rightfully claimed the result.
In the end the periods where Walsall were able to put pace and fast hands on the ball in all areas of the pitch saw them cross the line 3 times. The tries from Ryan Dolan, Max Hughes and Robbie Edgar were all the result of good linking and support play. Ben Tipson slotted 2 conversions and a penalty goal to leave the Red's with the points. Credit to the opposition for pushing to the end and testing Walsall who still have areas for improvement in order to to maintain the present unbeaten run.
