This was a highly charged match against a physically larger home team who regrettably displayed much of their physicality off the ball. Walsall kept their discipline and in the first half both teams looked evenly balanced in terms of territory and ball possession. However , a couple of Walsall errors were capitalised on by Evesham and at half time they were leading 15-0.
Walsall were the much stronger team in the second half and held 80% of the territory. Within the opening minutes Josh Pepper ( scrum half) picked the ball up from the back of a ruck and dummied the defence to finally touch down. This was superbly converted by Jordan Lay.
Walsall continued to pile on the pressure and threaten their line. The second try was awarded to Connor Fletcher who scored following a catch and drive.
