Walsall completely dominated the first half. They were faster at the breakdown, capitalised on the opponents errors and played mostly in the opponents half. They also stole most of the line out balls and piled the pressure on Kidderminster forcing penalties, two of which were ably converted to points by the trusty boot of centre, Jordan Lay. Flanker and Captain, Connor McGuirk showed his speed and determination when he scored Walsall's first try. Jordan Lay also impressed with a try and converted both. At the end of the first half Walsall were 20 - 0.
The second half was a different story as Walsall relaxed more and Kidderminster came back strongly. The visitors scored 2 converted tries in quick succession and piled the pressure on to Walsall who looked like they might concede a third. The final ten minutes were nail bitingly tense but fortunately a quick break by Josh Pepper enabled Jakob Brookes to score a third try making the points difference a little easier to bear. Kidderminster continued to push forward and scored again in the final seconds of the game. Walsall were relieved to hear the whistle!!
Men of the match were Jordan Sproule and Ryan Tamilio.
