Today we travelled to Lichfield again for the Staffordshire Festival.
We took 2 teams, The Polar Bears and The Grizzly Bears.

The Polar Bears -
This team consisted of the following players (and tries scored through the day) Rhys (15), Ben (1), Freddie (2), Maxwell (7), Hendrik (3), James (2), Jonathan (1), Noah (1) and Jude (2).
All of the players played out of their skins and despite some on and off the pitch distractions, they never faltered and gave everything they had. They were a perfect example of how 7 and 8 years olds should play the game and did so with the right spirit, attitude and commitment.

I won't go into individual games where we played Lichfield, Burton and a combined WIllenhall/Eccleshall team, suffice to say we came runners up of our group and then progressed into the County Cup where we beat a very strong Stoke side in the Semi, followed by an equally strong and competitive Wolverhampton in the final. Both of these teams proved stern tests yet again, the boys did all of us proud in how they performed winning the Cup.

The Grizzly Bears -
This team consisted of the following players (and tries scores through the day) Matthew H (3), Matthew P (2), Lucas (6), Sean, Cian, Danny (3), Jack A (1), Jack G, William (2)

The Grizzlys played Uttoxeter and lost 7 - 5, Trentam and drew 6 - 6 and Leek also drawing 6 - 6.
A fantastic effort from the boys who were very kindly coached by Williams Dad Stan, as me and Mike were running round with the Polar Bears and reffing. From what we saw you too played extremely well and in the game I reffed I got to see one of the best performances Ive seen all season from you.

Well done to all involved today and I look forward to touring with many of you next week, celebrating at the 'Parents Evening' and then finally at the Celebration Day on 22nd June.

I look forward to seeing you all next season too.
