Walsall’s second team, the United, managed to get their game played at Bridgnorth. It was a match that saw Walsall completely overwhelm their opponents and in doing so,moved back into third position in the 2nd team league. The visitors displayed some superb skills, with some fast skilful rugby. It was a pleasure to see both backs and forwards combining to produce some fantastic play. Walsall’s pace and passing skills eventually overwhelmed their opponents and the game was stopped with fifteen minutes still to play. They scored thirteen tries in total with young winger Will Emes getting five! Centre Jono Edwards scored three before half time. While there were one each for Gavin Jones, Carl Robinson, Roger Weston, Steve Gillard and debutant Alex Greenslade. They should have had another try, but young flanker Benny Nolan lost control of the ball as he was diving over the line, much to the amusement of his team mates! Andy Hawkins was successful with six conversions in this emphatic victory.
